“Before we became part of James’ Home Services, Ray and I owned our own retail gift shop. But Ray was bored with his job, and we wanted more for our future. Now we’re in control of how much we earn and the hours we work. Working in retail, we had to rely on the public coming into our store, but with James’, we can go out and market our business to whatever level we want.
We’re expanding our franchise every day. Our kids work with us, and we’re even looking to employ more interior cleaners, since there’s too much work to manage on our own! Ray and I both feel it was the best thing we’ve ever done for ourselves, and our kids. We feel that by being with James’ we have secured our children’s future.”

“For 16 years, Stan and I owned and operated a nursing home, but we decided to sell because of increasing family commitments. We needed something flexible that was going to allow us to be home at reasonable times. Although we hadn’t cleaned before, we had a little bit of business experience. We opened the paper, saw the advertisement, and `called James’’!
We bought an existing franchise, and we’ve found that James’ is growing and growing. There is just so much demand for cleaning and having the James’ name behind you is really important. Our philosophy is whatever you put into your business, you’ll get out of it. Stan and I made the decision that we wanted a certain income; we strived to achieve it and turned 13 regular customers into 50 regulars and climbing. Our future plan is to sell half of our business and get into training new franchisees.
With James’ you can earn a really great income. You can go `big time’ if that’s what you want and working for yourself tops it all! We love working for ourselves; we love the flexible hours, we love to present ourselves well and to build rapport with our customers, and delivering great service makes us very happy. We take a great deal of pride in what we do and often receive referrals and little notes that say: `Thank- you for making our life easier’.

“We had both been Ministers of Religion, but were burned out and needed a rest. We saw the James’ system, liked what was said, liked the system and haven’t been disappointed.
We always use the James’ system, and do the best job we can and we are always `flat out’ busy. We pride ourselves on the referral system, and have customers that have referred us to a friend who have in turn referred us to their friends five times over. We have one customer that has referred us to seven new clients!

“I had been a retail manager but wanted flexible hours so I had more time with my family. I found it hard working for someone else and thought: `Why not work for myself?’
I was one of the first franchisees in NSW and loved the fact that it was new and exciting. I saw it as a great challenge. I have enjoyed watching it grow now there are lots of trailers in every service.
As if owning your own business and working hard for yourself isn’t enough reward, you also have flexible hours for your family, fun at work, you get to be outdoors, enjoy getting to know your customers, and have less stress.
