The secret is out and now James’ Home Services’ digital mapping system is making headlines. The story, released by the Gold Coast Bulletin on 12/4/17 reads:

‘GOLD Coast-based franchise cleaning business James’ Home Services has leapt into the digital age, launching an automated IT system believed to be one of the most advanced in the world.

The Australian-developed software, Service Allocation Platform, links a customer with the nearest franchisee.

Coast businessman and cleaning industry veteran Mike Dowling took over the embattled business in 2015, increasing the number of franchisees by about 45 per cent.

After moving its headquarters to the Coast, Mr Dowling said he was prepared to expand into new markets to grow the business.

The new James Home Services offering includes interior and exterior cleaning, lawn and garden maintenance, pool and spa care, carpet cleaning, pest control, mobile car-washing and detailing, mobile pet-grooming and hydrobath.

Mr Dowling said the software system was developed in conjunction with an Australian mapping business.

“The system uses geotagging, which enables us to alert franchisees to the exact areas where customers need our services,” he said.

“What’s more, because we have linked up with a top-tier Australian mapping resource company, we have access to the most up-to-date location data.

“Support for our franchisees is my top priority and time is of the essence when dealing with customers.

“Texts and emails to our franchisees and replies to our customers are almost instant thanks to the (software).”

He said franchisors are provided with anonymous local data, giving them a better understanding of the service opportunities in their region.

“And, if we can’t do a job, the regional franchisor knows immediately.”

He said he had made “fundamental” changes to the business since taking control.

“We have been investing in the company’s infrastructure and we have seen a surge in the number of customers inquiring about services,” he said.

He plans to expand James’ Home Services to Tasmania this year and into South Australia next year.
